Volkswagen polo in India for 2010

Volkswagen AG plans to launch its new model Polo for 2010 in India. It will have two versions: one is hatchback and other is sedan. The hatchback model may launch in the first quarter of 2010 and sedan model may launch later in the mid 2010. The new polo will be manufactured at Volkswagen’s Pune plant. VW spokesperson said that the VW is planning to introduce the Beetle in the country by 2009-end. The company’s Pune plant will start being utilized this year to make the Skoda Fabia which was previously being developed in its Aurangabad. An extra investment of 3,800 cr will be done at its Pune facility, in phases.

The three different models of Volkswagen polo will be available namely Trendline, Comfortline and Highline. The petrol Trendline model will be at price at Rs 4.34 lac while the diesel trend line model will be at price at Rs 5.2 lac. The ex showroom price of high line diesel version will be about 6.7 lac.
