Making your body a healthy place to live within-Google’s Baseline Study forges into the complicated business of a human body

Unhappy faces are a common sight in hospitals. The realization of fault of sorts in the functioning of a healthy human body thrills nobody. The incessant testings, predictions, unwanted suggestions and the endless prescriptions which follow this fault is equally unfavorable.  Sitting within the confines of a medical body each one of us, at least once in a lifetime (more  than once, for that matter) must have wistfully thought of a time and a place where the word ‘disease’  can be liberally omitted from the human vocabulary.

But, with age comes the realization that diseases are an inevitable part of human life. They sure can be prevented, but cannot be done without. But, how can one take prevention against  the sea of diseases out there? By being healthy? Yes, of course! But, what are the benchmarks of a healthy human body?

Baseline study by Google
How healthy are you?

We  know some, but we are yet to know them all. Most of the time we (after being inflicted with a disease) become ideal case studies for medical professionals. On the basis of which, the patients who come in later are treated.

Google noticed this and Google decided to work on this. It’s work in this field is aptly named as ‘Baseline Study‘ where world famous professionals and researcher would work on something which is an Amazon of secrets- the human body. Up till now, diseases, medications and prevention of very few have been known by civilization, but now, Google’s ‘Baseline Study’ would tell us the ideal reading and state of a healthy human body.

Google in medical industry
Studying the workings of a human body

Two well known faces leading this project are Dr. Andrew Conrad and Dr. Sam Gambhir. While, the former is the pioneer of affordable tests related to HIV, the later heads the Department of Radiology at Stanford’s medical school. These gentlemen have formed a team consisting of renowned physiologists, biochemists, opticians and molecular biologists.

But, how would Google go about its newest Moonshot Project? Volunteers, anyone? The team would encourage people (healthy individuals)  to volunteer for this project, wherein, they would be scanned (not literally, of course) inside out. Body fluids, eye movements, palpitation, breathing rate, behavior of cells and tissues and all that which can be absolute markers of a healthy human body would be fed into the system by Google. Google has set out to compile the largest medical repository in the world.

In the due course of this lengthy project, wearable medical technology by Google would be thoroughly utilized-contact lenses to track eye movements, other devices to keep a track of breathing rate and so on. But, who would benefit from this high end project? YOU, of course! Knowing the way and the rate at which a healthy human body breaks fatty food or, the rate at which one breathes when under pressure or in fear or, the ideal condition of tissues and muscles-the knowledge of all these and even more would bring in an air of revolution in the medical industry. Through Google’s computing power, the world of medical would shrink and stay connected.

Baseline Project
Are you sick or healthy?

Google  promises discreetness. It states that once people are analyzed thoroughly, their social security code and other identification markers would be removed making them anonymous. Can Google be trusted?  That we shall know in time. But, one thing is being made sure by the lead investigators in this study that Google isn’t given a free reign over this project. So,the chances of these information being misused seems slim for now. Let’s hope Google abides by it’s word or else the rate of marriage proposals and insurance sanction would go down drastically in the years to come.
