Acer launches new Android Smartphone Acer Liquid
Acer India launches their first Snapdragon 1GHz and OS Android1.6 based 3G smartphone with 3.5 inches full Touch screen. With a captivating square shaped looks giving you ultimate new mobile experience. The exterior of the phone is “refreshing”, curvy and closer to a media player, with white, red and black color options. At a size of 115×64×12.43 mm, the Liquid weights 135 g only and features a 3.5″ WVGA (800×480 pixels) capacitive touchscreen. WVGA is yet also new for Android devices and was just enabled by Google with the recent introduction of Android 1.6 code-named Donut. The autofocus camera on the back supports 5 MP and can be used for photos and videos.
Acer Liquid features a WVGA touchscreen measuring 3.5″ and it supports HSPDA 7.2Mbps / HSUPA / GSM. It has a 1350mAh battery and also features an FM radio. The phone has an inbuilt memory of 256MB which can be expanded through a micro SD. The phone also supports various multimedia functions such as audio – video streaming, mobile browsing, social media connectivity and Nemo player along with a full-screen-preview task manager. The phone although does not offer social networking connectivity.
Software and OS details
It has a customised UI over the standard Android 1.6 OS, but there are only few differences to the stock version, like a modified dialer and camera app. It has all the Google Apps like Gmail, Google Maps, Market, YouTube and Google Talk even though it is not a Google branded “Experience” phone.
The Handset comes with smart integration of Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Picasa and Flickr in the address book, with realtime notification of status or content updates.
