Amazon store for Android is now updated and the version is now up at “7”

Amazon has updated its app store. The version went up or jumped from v5 to v7. The version 7 can be in coordination with iOS 7 as well. That may not be coincidental. That is rather contradicting to what I believe. “There is no such thing as coincidence, it is inevitable.”

The app brings to it a new UI which is user friendly. The store otherwise would be very confusing. It is now like Express Avenue. It was previously like Spencer Plaza which is divided into different phases and where getting lost was easy. Amazon India Product management executive Parag Gupta feels that monetization is easy with Amazon store for developers rather than the overly popular Google Play Store. The Amazon App store was an idea primarily introduced for purchasing books on the kindle. The Kindle would be connected to an always on Amazon store in which the purchasing was easy. You just have to key in your credit card details and the rest are taken care by the app store itself. The App Store is an easy way of exploring the offerings by Amazon.

The recent UI update is in line with the latest Fire OS 3.1 tablets. For those who don’t know what the FireOS is, it is the OS developed by Amazon itself and is set to be released on its Kindle and other tablets. And as Android handsets are the major selling devices, the executive feels that the apps fit into them. There is a separate app available in the Play store that will install this App store onto your device. The changes in the App store include a pseudo 3D shading and a dark grey/orange colour scheme. It also includes some performance updates and bug fixes. Be sure to check the updates on your app store and if you haven’t installed it already, go the Play Store to install it.
