Audi with a Sportback Concept at the Detroit Auto Show 2009

Audi unvieiled its Sportback concept car at the Detroit – North American Auto Show 2009. The Audi is competing for Mercedes CLS, is based on its next generation A6 platform. It measures 4.95m long, 1.39m wide and 1.4m high is boldly progressive for luxury class. Under the supervision of Wolfgang Egger, the Audi design boss, the Sportback implements 2008 A1 sportback concept’s 6 point, shield shaped grille and gaping horizontal side intakes. Egger told that this will be the ‘new face’ of Audi, a futuristic concept.

With the world’s cleanest diesel technology; the 3.0litre V6 TDI clean diesel almost completely elliminates nitrogen oxides. This engine already meets the emissions limits of all 50 U.S. states and the EU6 standard scheduled to take effect in 2014. The fuel consumption will be of 5.9 litres/100km (39.87 US mpg).
