Your Cellphone can be charged from the energy generated by your feet

A 24 year old Kenyan has developed a concept that can power you cell phone with the help of the energy generated by your feet. The pressure generated while walking or running can be used to generate electricity and the same can be used for charging your mobile, says Anthony Mutua. The idea is to create a shoe that would have an ultra thin chip of crystals, which is capable of generating and storing electricity when the pressure is applied.  “This charger works using pressure, as you walk you generate pressure that in turn generates energy, once you have arrived where you were going you can now sit down and charge your mobile phone,” he said.

According to the Kenyan newspaper the Daily Nation, the technology can be used in two ways to power the cellphones. The first option is to charge the phone while you are moving by connecting a cable from your shoe to the cellphone in your pocket. The second option is to charge your cellphone immediately after the walk. The creator is working hard to overcome the financial challenges to bring this prototype to real use.
