Nokia X, X+ and the XL range of devices now official [MWC 2014]

Nokia is taking MWC very seriously. The company has released its X series of devices which will actually be the next line-up of devices in the Asha range. The three devices are the X, X+ and the XL.

Nokia X

The X series of devices are not Google certified and don’t run pure Android. They just have Android store as a third party application which is very much similar to the Amazon approach. Nokia and Microsoft worked their way to bring out some neat integration in the core services and apps. The device comes with 512MB of RAM while the other devices come with 768MB of RAM. The Internal Storage is 4GB and can be expandable up to 32GB via microSD card slot. At the Back is a 3MP fixed focus shooter like we said. The weight of the phone is around 129gms and has a 1500 mAh battery which is capable of 26 hours of music playback and 10.6 hours of 3G talk time.

Nokia X+

The Nokia X+ is actually an upgraded version of the Nokia X in which the RAM is increased to 768MB from 512MB RAM. This results in switching between apps easier but it actually causes the price of the phone to increase. The X+ costs around 99 Euros while the Nokia X is around 89 Euros.

Nokia XL

The Nokia XL features a large 5″ IPS LCD display and has 768MB RAM. The screen is not that bad and comes cheap at a price of 109 Euros. The device  is powered by 1GHz SnapDragon Processor on board. There are also WP exclusives like SkyDrive or OneDrive, HERE Maps, etc… There is a 5MP shooter at the back and comes with LED Flash as well. There are Lumia like tiles in the device and do we need to say? The smaller tiles display less information or no information at all and the larger ones display information or notification depending on the app.

Few more from Nokia – The Asha 230 and the Asha 220.

Asha 220

The Asha or the Nokia 220 is a device which comes with very limited features like 2G connectivity alone and also, there is no Wi-Fi on board. This device is particularly useful for developing markets like India where 2G connectivity is at 75% and the people who use 3G stand at 25%. There is a 2.4″ display on board and weighs around 83.6g.

The Asha 230 comes with a 1020 mAh battery and 1.3MP shooter. The build is plasticky but the feel is good. There is also the Glance feature which didn’t feature in Nokia 520. Both these phones are very cheap and form the basic low end models of the line-up of Nokia.
