Chevrolet Sail to come in India

General Motors have revealed a new car launch in India. Chevrolet Sail will be the car they are going to launch in India by 2011. The car will be designed and produced in China. It will be produced in China may be to reduce the production cost. Chevrolet Sail is designed mainly keeping Opel Corsa in the mind which was launched by GM in India. Sail will be available both in Petrol and Diesel engines.

Chevrolet Sail will have 1.4 litre petrol engine and 1.3 litre diesel engine in India. The 1.3 litre Multi Jet engine of Chevrolet Sail is developed by Fiat. The car features 5-Speed manual transmission system with disk brake for the front and drum brake for the rear wheels. It even features power steering with max power of 948hp. Chevrolet Sail is said to compete with Maruti Swift D’zire and Renault Logan after its launch in India. Other specifications of this car in not yet being announced. It will be launched in India by May 2011 at a price around Rs. 7 lakh. The car is said to have good road grip with radial tyres and can reach a speed of 0-60 kms within just 0 – 10 seconds. It will have 5 seater capacity.
