Dell launches tough Latitude E6400

Dell, the computer giant on Tuesday expected to launch its new touch screen laptop that can sustain on rough & touch conditions. The tough Latitude E6400 XFR laptop with a touch screen facility, which the company claims that it can withstand drops, dust and high-pressure water sprays.

The laptops was designed according to the U.S military specifications and these laptops are targeted towards military personnel’s.

The laptop can survive under rain and wind gusts up to 70 miles per hour. It can also work under temperature less 20 degrees Fahrenheit to 145 degrees Fahrenheit. The laptop also designed to sustain during drops of around 4 feet. The LCD screen floats a little bit within the LCD cover so it can take impacts and shock, said Jeremy Bolen, a Dell spokesman.

The laptop also has fixings to tighten laptop components like the smart-card reader and protect USB ports from elements like moisture and dust, Bolen said. The laptops is protected by chassis made of ballistic armor, which is high-strength substance used in ballistic missiles.

Moreover this is the first laptop from Dell Computers, where it will compete with the existing giants like Lenovo and Panasonic.

The laptops initially expected to released during March 10 for about US$4,299 in the U.S., Canada, France, Spain, the U.K., Germany and Italy.
