‘GravityLight’ An Eco-friendly Lamp – Powered By Gravity!
Looking for completely clean and green light? You may reply that we already have it and it is Solar powered light. But the amount of light it gives is directly proportional to the size of the panel used.
Also this cannot be generated when sun is not available and obviously this energy needs to be stored in battery for use.
deciwatt.org a research initiative has created a solution for this – GravityLight! GravityLight is a revolutionary approach for creating illumination.
The initiative is mainly targeted for developing countries where people suffer from Kerosene light smoke! Statistics state that 780 million women and children inhale smoke which is equivalent to smoking 2 packets of cigarettes every day. And 60% of adult, female lung-cancer victims in developing nations are non-smokers.
GravityLight is completely eco-friendly! It only takes a few seconds to lift the weight, which in-turn would create enough energy for half an hour of light. Additionally there are no batteries to run out, replace or dispose off.
GravityLight is designed to be a replacement for a kerosene lamp. And its output would surely be better than a kerosene lamp.
GravityLight is an off-line project which is now at a working prototype stage and seeking funding via Indiegogo. Wish to back this project?! Visit indiegogo!
