‘The Expendables 3’ leaks online ahead of the official release and downloaded atleast 240,000 times

Expandables 3 – the much awaited action movie starring Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Antonio Banderas, Mel Gibson and Jet Li has leaked online and downloaded at least 240000 times using the file sharing system BitTorrent. We have seen movie leaks after official release or even on the same day of release, but, this kind of pre-release leaks, although rare, could directly affect the movies box office success. Also the pirated movie seems to be of high-quality!

The original source of the piracy is unclear, also tracking downloads could be a difficult task. According to the reports, the copies began appearing online Wednesday and downloads started on Thursday. And as of 6 pm EST, July 24, the downloads were 189,052.

Nu Image, the production company of Expandables 3 has sued those who downloaded the movie. But its unlikely that the suit will bring down-loaders punishment. Lionsgate, the distribution for Expendables 3, had no comment over the incident.

The sales of “The Expendables 3” will probably be undermined. But why? The buzz could even make more people hit the theaters on August 5, to watch the movie in big screens! Lets wait to see more. And yes, when I searched the web for the pirated movie, there were even subtitles present. Whoa! People are so fast.
