Hiroshi Yamauchi, Nintendo’s KingMaker Aged 85 Dead.
Mr. Hiroshi Yamauchi,85 – who led Nintendo from 1949 to 2002, and turned Nintendo, into a global video game powerhouse, passed away due to complications of pneumonia on Thursday in Kyoto, Japan.
Yamauchi was the person oversaw the creation of the Famicom, Nintendo’s first games console. Although the NES was a huge risk for Nintendo, it is sure to be the reason rebirth of the video games. Yamauchi continued as the President of Nintendo throughout its golden years where they released the Game & Watch series, the NES, the Game Boy, the SNES, the N64, and the GameCube. According to the Forbes Yamauchi was Japan’s 13th richest man, with more than $2 billion. He was the largest individual shareholder of Nintendo.
Eventhough the company leading position in gaming had been taken over by Sony and Microsoft. Nintendo continued to fight back to regain its dominance and released the successful of the Nintendo Wii.
The legacy and reputation of Nintendo and Yamauchi is undimmed! I personally love the Pokemon, Mario and many other classic family-friendly games!
