Legends live on – Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid
It is has been a long test. But people don’t mind. They are here to see the legend play- Sachin Tendulkar whether he scores a zero or rather blast his innings with a century. This website is only for technical and technology related posts you may think. But the legend deserves some credit and appraisals from our team. Not any kind of appreciation will give heed to achievements of the Master Blaster. On this last test, we would also have to keep in mind The Wall who has stood for minutes than any other man. Including Tendulkar. This post is celebrating the legends- Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar.
Starting with The Wall- Rahul Dravid.
Rahul Dravid was born in a Marathi family in Indore, Madhya Pradesh and later moved to Bangalore where his father worked in a company making jams. His mother a professor of Architecture was teaching at the University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE). Dravid started cricket at an age of 12. Represented the under 15, under 17 and under 19 teams at state level. His talent was first recognized by former Cricketer Keki Tarapore when he first scored a century and was behind the wickets as a wicketkeeper for his school team. He is hailed one of the great batsman in the history of cricket. He has scored more than 10,000 runs after Sachin and Ricky Ponting (Former Australian Captain). As of October 2012, he holds the record for the most number of catches taken by a player (non-wicket-keeper) in Test cricket, with 210. In August 2011, Dravid retired from ODI after a surprise call for a match against England. And later in March 2012, he retired from Test cricket.
Dravid was a successful player but his victory in ODIs comes from continuous struggle and losses and eventually getting dropped out in many of the games. The man plays consistently, takes his time to score runs. But once in form, no one can stop him. Thus the name, the list of this legend goes on and cannot be written in words. Here is a simple infographic of the achievements by the Wall.
Next up the line in the legends list is the Master Blaster- Sachin Tendulkar
Sachin Tendulkar is also called the Master Blaster. The Blaster once in form will not stop until all the overs are finished or the umpires have run out of balls. He is a monster machine set to always take India for the win. But when not in form, he is sure to disappoint when his scores will not even reach the two digits. The Master Blaster was born on April 23, 1973. He is an Australian honorary of the Rank AM. The orders sure are confusing but leaving that. He is a Indian cricketer who is the widely acknowledged in his generation. He took up cricket at the age of eleven and made his debut against Pakistan at the age of sixteen. Tendular is India’s richest cricket player with his net worth about 160 million USD (according to Wealth X) and in the Forbe’s list of highly paid athletes, he is ranked 51st with the first being Tiger Woods at 78 million dollars in total whereas Sachin is around 22 million dollars. In 2012, Tendulkar was dominated to the upper house of Rajya Sabha and he is also the first sportsperson without an aviation background to get the honorary Group Captain award in the Indian Air Force. The Achievements of Sachin is many and all cannot be dotted out to you. Here is an infographic for your special liking.
He has also got a Sand statue in his own state Maharashtra- the Goa beach. With Bats all around his face and at the top written “God of Cricket”. Check it out yourselves.
Last but not the least, we wish the legends all the best in their careers. Long live the legends!!
