LG announces 5 inch display for smartphone with 440 ppi
LG, the consumer electronics giant has announced a 5-inch display screen for Smartphone with a pixel resolution of 1920 x 1080 and a mammoth 440 pixels per inch density. The display was built using the Advanced High Performance In-Plane Switching technology, which means the image quality will be comparable to HDTV and should be good enough in sunlight. LG also claims that the technology will provide high color fidelity, wide viewing angles and rapid response speed. The technology is expected to beat the apple’s retina display. The display is expected to be released this year and LG has also planned to exhibit at SID 2012 in Boston.
