Rumor: Windows Phone 8.1 set to release early 2014?

Windows Phone 8 is the second generation of the Windows Phone mobile operating system from Microsoft. It was released on October 29, 2012, and like its predecessor, it features the interface known as Metro (or Modern UI).

According to Wikipedia: Windows Phone 8 replaces its CE-based architecture used on Windows Phone 7 devices with the Windows NT kernel found on many Windows 8 components. Current Windows Phone 7.x devices cannot run or update to Windows Phone 8 and new applications compiled specifically for Windows Phone 8 are not made available for Windows Phone 7.x devices. Developers can make their apps available on both Windows Phone 7.x and Windows Phone 8. Windows phone is created by Nokia, Samsung, Huawei and HTC.

The Windows Phone 8 builds over Windows Phone 7.5 and makes many more improvements cosmetically as well as under the hood. The Windows Phone system is capable of many feat which cannot be imagined by other OSes such as Android and iOS. It is just that Microsoft is not unleashing the full potential. If unleashed, Microsoft will not only dominate the PC market but also the Smartphone market. All it needs is a little time to think and see what customers want and are in need of. The Windows Phone 8.1 Update is said to come early 2014 but with the GDR3 setting down now only, the 8.1 update is sure to be postponed but lets see. The WP 8.1 is said to feature many improvements under the hood with voice navigation inside the system getting more and more mature as in the case of Xbox one. The new voice assistant is codenamed Cortana after the gorgeous and hot character of the Halo Series- Cortana. There is also said to be an integrated Notification centre where you get unified notifications. There is also support for 7″ and 10″ displays. The GDR3 supports upto 5″ and 6″ displays. But the Windows phone 8.1 update is sure to be overkill. There will be integrated support for the different platforms- Xbox, Windows and WP. Wait in for WP 8.1 and get smarter. !!!
