Twitter Fiction Festival fires off 28 Nov.
Twitter is emerging as powerful social media. In six years, Twitter has evolved from social networking phenomenon to an online classroom of sorts for students, according to a new Michigan State University study.
“Tweeting can be thought of as a new literary practice,” Christine Greenhow, an assistant professor of education at MSU, said in a release Wednesday. She also adds that , Twitter is changing the way we experience what we read and what we write.
Twitter has always been a place to tell stories, often stories about news, or politics, or perhaps sports or music. To celebrate the literary practice and making Twitter great place for telling fictional stories – Twitter has announced Twitter Fiction Festival.
Twitter Fiction Festival will happen at the end of November as a five-day virtual storytelling celebration held entirely on Twitter. The Twitter Fiction Festival (#twitterfiction) will feature creative experiments in storytelling from authors around the world.
The content formats range from that already exist on Twitter — short story in Tweets, a Twitter chat, live-tweeting — or, even you could create a new one.
With the selected authors announced already, we are all looking forward for the 5 day event!
