Waze hits Windows Phone 8 devices. Download Now!

Following the release of Instagram, the popular traffic and weather update App Waze is ready to hit Windows Phone. The App was acquired by Google Inc and is now ready to download in the Windows Phone store.

Waze is a GPS oriented navigation program with Turn by turn Navigation and provides route details according to the times the consumer prefers. The same is being provided by HERE service. It contains offline navigation, up-to-date traffic info and turn by turn navigation.

Waze was initially an Open source project named FreeMap Israel that set out to map the whole of Israel including the traffic info mainly of other things. Facebook and other companies were willing to buy the service but only Google after setting down $996M was able to buy the franchise. It is available for the different platforms like Android, iOS, Blackberry, Windows Mobile (v 5.0 onwards). As you can see from the image below, the Graphics are rather disappointing.

But some people expect a simple user Interface like this rather than the easy-to-use and get accustomed to interface of HERE Drive, Maps, etc. Those of you who don’t like the Interface can download this app. This uses data connection and I Am not sure as to whether offline navigation is available now but if it is not available, it will sure be available in the coming updates. Make sure you check out the store for your download. Happy navigation.
