Windows Phone store hits 190,000 apps and 3 billion downloads

What comes to mind when you say Windows Phone? For many people, it is the popular troll bot all over the net saying “No Appppzzz and No gamezzz“. For some others, it may be the User interface and lack of usability at first. Well, I accept. It definitely needs some using up to do. Otherwise its like you will be lost in a maze with  no way out. This is one of the things why people do not like the Windows Phone platform, though, I don’t blame them.

The Windows Phone Store has hit the 190,000 app mark and is celebrating. Though with just a 10,000 more, it is sure to hit the 200,000 mark. People cannot complain now about the lack of apps and the platform is slowly developing. On an average, 500 apps are added daily. The windows phone store has accumulated 3 million downloads and on a single day, the total is hitting 10 million. The revenue has gone up from 181% last year to 290% this year. This shows that the Windows phone platform is gaining popularity among the masses. This could be due to the Nokia Lumia 520 which Nokia is offering at a cheap price but with premium features. If Nokia and Microsoft keep this up, they are sure to go from 3rd place to 2nd atleast, and with more hard work, will reach the top again.
