Bomb blast at Chennai central – Several injured.
At 6.30 am in the morning on 01-05-2014 there has been continuous bomb blasts at the Chennai central railway station. The train which has been affected is Bangalore-Guwhati(Train no 12509) express which has arrived at 7.30am at platform no 9 in Chennai central station. The bomb blast is said to be happened at 7.45am.
It is also noted that the train is delayed by two hours that it has to be arrived at 5.20am in the morning. The victim who lost her life in this is Swati(22) from Guntur who was travelling from Bangalore to Vijayawada. Four other victims have been severely injured and admitted in general hospital. 14 others are injured and majorly they have their leg injuries and one have been injured in neck.
The blast has damaged coaches s4 and s5. The railway station manager have said that theses coaches will be removed form the train and it will be subjected under forensic analysis for further clues. It is also found that the bomb was triggered under the seat of the dead victim. The government has announce 1 lakh money to be given for the family of dead victim and 25000 for serious injuries and 5000 for minor injuries. The investigation turns on the way of the Srilankan terrorist Mohammed Zakir Hussain who have been arrested, during investigation, he spilled out that several bombs have been planted at many places in Chennai. So police security is tightened up at major places at Chennai.
It is stated that the damaged bodies will be removed soon and the train services will resume around 11 am. In-spite of the security check and various other measures taken, Chennai’s Central Station, which is a hot-spot in the city was subjected to attack. This is an alarming signal for every other region in the country to stay alert and secure!
