Lumia 800 Surfaces after 3 and a half months underwater!!! Surprisingly it still works!

The Nokia Lumia 800 is hitting headlines. It is sure to turn some heads when the article is published. The Lumia 800 was released back in October last year. It features Windows Phone 7, 8MP camera, 16GB storage space and no card slot. It comes in a polycarbonate body and the battery is said to be non removable. The camera uses Carl Zeiss optics and comes with dual LED flash.

The phone is said to be lost underwater in a lake in Sweden about 3.5 months ago. And the owner didn’t quite mind about his/her 800 being lost. But the important thing is here that when another person Mr. Roger Nillson found the phone surfacing on the lake and cleaned it and kept it dry and powered off for an indeterminate amount of time. The phone was covered with algae and mud. He commented on facebook that when he started charging the phone it amazingly worked. And that it stands the usual 2 days of Standby time as it usually would like when it is unboxed anew.

Nokia fans are sure to be proud of this moment. The Lumia 800 is not even water proof certified and yet is capable of such a feat. What if Nokia phones are water proof Certified ie. having an IP55/57/58 certification? Nokia is said to be constructing amazing hardware and this instance is just another proof of that. Just as some trolls suggest that the “3310” and other Nokia phones are indestructible, Nokia is said to be living up to the name.

What will happen if that really was true and that Nokia phones are way durable than plastic and don’t degrade or destruct? The world will be a different place and I am sure you wouldn’t like to imagine that!
