Yahoo acquires OnTheAir – A video chat startup company
Recently Yahoo! announced that it is discontinuing several messenger features, following this the hot news is that – Yahoo Inc has acquired a five-person video chat company OnTheAir, to boost up Yahoo’s mobile capabilities.
OnTheAir is a start-up firm, launched in March. It allows users to host video conversations in a “television talk show” setting, where members of a group can be called “on stage” by a host while being watched by anyone with a video stream.
“Our top priority is a focused, coherent mobile strategy”, said the Chief Executive Marissa Mayer of the Yahoo! Its second acquisition since Mayer took over as chief executive past July. However no financial terms of acquisition were disclosed.
OnTheAir team would be joining Yahoo’s mobile group . This move makes us guess that Yahoo is planning develop mobile products in order to attract consumers. Lets wait to hear more.
