Audi Launches New Set of Wheels in India

Audi rolls out an all new sports class range for India. It unveiled the R8 V10+, RS 5, S6 and Audi TT at the Delhi Couture Week 2013 on Friday where Slumdog Millionaire fame Freida Pinto added glamour to the event. Audi states that this sports range is the result of careful design that compliments the luxurious lifestyle of the buyer, with comfort being a top priority. The Delhi-NCR region is said to have maximum number of Audi enthusiasts, making the maximum contribution to sales figures in India. In recent years, the annual sales figures of Audi have gone up from 9,000 crore INR to 10,500 crore INR. This increase can only be attributed to Audi meeting demands of its elite class of customers.

Being the world’s second largest luxury vehicle manufacturer doesn’t come easy, more so for Audi who have kept up a solid reputation. Michael Perschke, who is the head of Audi India confirms this – “Audi has a strong connection and competence in style and design worldwide. Our new sporty line is a part of the Audi 2014 autumn collection which not only underlines our extraordinary expertise in design and lifestyle, but also clearly establishes us as a performance leader.” There have been hikes in prices following the rupee falling and foreign exchange rates increasing. These factors have effected an increase of almost 3% in prices. The price of the Audi A6 has hiked by 180,000 INR, the Q5 by 152,000 INR, and R8 by 442,000 INR.

Audi’s corporate tagline is Vorsprung durch Technik, meaning “Progress through Technology”. True to their promise, they are making changes and improvements to the A8 and A3 versions to compete with other automobile giants like Mercedez Benz and BMW.
