Fujitsu dreams of turning Paper into a Touch screen

Well, its all about touching hereafter. Fujitsu reportedly developing a technology that can turn any paper into a touch screen. The technology will be able to detect objects that your finger touches in the real world and turns that surface into a touch screen. According to the reports from DigInfo, the technology will not feature any special hardware, but will have a webcam and commercial projector along with the image processing technology. The company also demonstrated the technology through a video below, which shows how the data on a paper is manipulated by touching using the finger and can copy the image or text excerpt to a memory.

Interestingly the company says, this technology will not only work on flat surfaces, but also on an uneven or curved surface as well. So it means, the textbook can be turned into a touch screen and the printed data can be copied onto a memory. For now, the technology is in concept level and the company has plans to unveil the commercial version by fiscal 2014.
