Google’s Easter Eggs for Halloween !
It is Halloween- A time when kids go knocking on doors offering trick or treat. A little something about the history of how this festival started- Halloween also known as All Hallows Eve is a festival mostly celebrated on October 31st i.e. today. This is a time for remembering the dead, the martyrs, the saints and all the faithful believers.
The word Halloween or Hallowe’en dates to about 1745 and is of Christian origin. The word “Halloween” means “hallowed evening” or “holy evening”. It comes from a Scottish term for All Hallows’ Eve (the evening before All Hallows’ Day). In Scots, the word “eve” is even, and this is contracted to e’en or een. Over time, All Hallows Eve evolved into Halloween.
The kids go into neighboring households in their own costumes which may range from a wide known character to almost an unknown horrifying character. Halloween is also the time when people carve out pumpkins in the form of a face ie. it should have two eyes, one nose and a mouth (as seen in the picture above). Inside there will be a candle which will give the glow to the pumpkin.( Creepy!!). Google, in its own way of celebrating each of the festival will put up a new gif image on its home page or a link which will take you to news items related to that particular event and so on. In the same way, now there is an interactive image in its homepage.
Head out for more action and Happy Halloween!!!!
