Google Flights - I'm Feeling Lucky!
Google Flights is Feeling Lucky

Google Flights is the company’s attempt, since 2011, to make its presence felt in the online flight booking sector as well. It aims to simplify and facilitate the purchase of airline tickets through third party suppliers by providing a list of flights while giving one a reasonable trade-off between price, duration, number of stops and sometimes other factors such as amenities and baggage fees.

Simply enter your place of origin, destination and dates. You can filter the resulting list of flights according to numerous other parameters as well, some of which are mentioned above. Last, but not the least, Google has categorically stated, for all you critics and naysayers, that the flight selection and results shall not be “influenced by any paid relations” – in lieu with their motto of “Don’t be evil”.

Whilst one may feel that you’d require oodles of cash and time to blow on this new exploratory method, Google aims to address your travel according to your budget and time too. Simply, key in a budget and time limit and watch Google do its magic as it lists all the possible new locales you can visit, given your monetary / time constraints.

One of the advantages of using Google Flights and this feature is that, while looking for some inspiration, simply click on the world map to go full-screen and view the price of going to any individual city from your current / input location, which is within your budget. Thus, you can see the many and varied cities that you can go to, photos of each city and also view how the price of travel changes according to the time of the year!

While it may seem like a crazy and far-fetched idea initially, on second thoughts, it seems like a wonderful way to discover our world – albeit in a slightly different manner.  So, what are you waiting for??!
