The whole internet is getting upgraded on Wednesday with IPv6 Protocol
Too many machines in the internet and now the IP addresses are depleted. Internet society has taken a major step to launch IPv6 for the growth of the internet. People who surf the internet without IPv6 will have to go through a transitional gateway before they reach the non updated IPv4 websites, which will be definitely slow. On Wednesday, the internet society has encouraged the websites to migrate to IPv6 Internet protocol. According to the interview by the president and CEO of the American Registry of Internet Numbers to Mashable, IPv6 is the single largest upgrade in the internet history and it’s not going to be an easy decision for the major content providers to switch to IPv6. The lack of available IP addresses with IPv4 was announced in February 2011 and today the world’s biggest websites like Google, Facebook and Yahoo are migrating to IPv6.
