The Pope sends his first tweet!

After joining Twitter officially few weeks before, we know it was today (12/12/12) that the leader of the Catholic church is going to make his first tweet!

And we were all waiting for the same! And it has come with his heartful blessings! The Pontiff has sent his first tweet at about 5:30 a.m. using his personal handle @Pontifex.

The tweet read:

Dear friends, I am pleased to get in touch with you through Twitter. Thank you for your generous response. I bless all of you from my heart.

The following tweets and answers for the pntifx handle will not be from the pope directly, but only after his approval, the papal authorities said.
