Give your house a library… in the form of a wallpaper!

When I was young and in library, a bunch of kids were always sitting around me, browsing and reading books. But these days at the library, I only see a bunch of senior citizens. After a lot of contemplation, I realized we’re moving into a digital era with Kindles and e-Book readers everywhere. They do not have the joy of feeling the girth of the book in their hands, flipping the pages and getting accidental paper cuts, or the smell that comes from the fresh and old books. But are they even reading?

Kindles have usually been a gift from a parent or a concerned relative, and they lie among the mess of gadgets, buried deep away from sight, dying without being recharged. Why? No one absolutely has any motivation for reading. This has given an opportunity for a popular telecommunications company.

A collaboration between Vodafone Romania, MobExpert, and McCann Bucharest has resulted in the fabrication of the Digital Library Wallpaper. MobExpert is reputed to be the largest and most infamous interior decorator of Romania with 36 outlets.

Going into the details of the Digital Library Wallpaper, you need to log in to a website, choose your favourite books or books you may want to read, place it on a virtual book case, you can decorate this virtual book case with items of your choice and order it online. What you can expect to be delivered at your doorstep is a wallpaper of that virtual book case. Except that these books contain a QR code that you can just scan and read the books.

Now that it has become a piece of interior decoration that consumes zero space, there is a certain amount of motivation every time you stroll past it. Apart from being an effective advertisement of Vodafone, it is a productive one.
