Nokia to launch 12 Megapixel camera phone

Mobile giant Nokia is planning to launch a 12 Mega pixel camera phone with optical zoom. Sources within Nokia and Carl Zeiss  – who are expected to provide the optics for upcoming devices, as they commonly do with Nokia’s current cameraphone range – have suggested that the high megapixel handsets will hit the market in 2010. This move will put Nokia into competition with Samsung’s Pixon 12, Sony Ericsson’s Satio. But neither of these devices have optical zoom. It’s speculated that the device could be the Nokia N98, and a new flagship for the company.

The price of this phone may be around $1000.
