Gift Tunes by Tapping your iPhone : Apple files NFC Patent

Updated on September 1, 2017

According to the reports from Mashable, Apple has filed a patent for the ability to gift tunes to friends by tapping the devices together. Using Near Field Communication (NFC), you can transfer songs or tunes with a personal voice message, or with an image. The sender will only be charged if the receiver decides to download the tune. The patent discusses about the technology that will be used to transfer the digital media content from one user’s account to another. The NFC technology is not available on any iDevice. The sender should have a cash in his account to cover the transaction and in case if the sender doesn’t have enough cash, the receiver will be provided with an option to purchase the tune. Of course, it may not be called as  gift, but it at least allows you share a song with your friend. The patent also suggests that the Apple is planning to allow its  users to share the playlists.
