Motorola and 3D system gears up to create the Ara model

Motorola and 3D system are desperately try to bring in new innovation and for that they are trying to bring the Ara concept into reality. The Ara follows the modular concept as introduced by PhoneBloks. The concept by Motorola is brought into reality by the partnership of Motorola and 3D systems

They are using new materials for the production of the different parts of the phone. It uses 3D printing techniques to do the model. 3D printing techniques sure are gaining popularity nowadays. 3D printing can be used to print any material that will be otherwise costly to buy. The 3D printing needs a 3D printer which is very costly now and will take some years to see some light and development. Guns, Human skull, robo-hand, house, dresses and even burgers have been shown to have printed using the 3D printing technology. The printed model looks perfectly accurate to the real model which is manufactured by people. The Ara concept came close to reality and Motorola is looking to partner with 3D system to build more custom made smartphone concept.

For those of you who forgot the Ara concept (I know most of you wouldn’t have), it is the concept in which you don’t have to replace your phone if one main component fails and it is available for heavy customization to your personal needs and so on.
