The device has six frets and connects to a another device with MIDI support. The casing is plastic and its totally very light! Jamstik can be also connected to an iDevice or Android using specific applications!

“Our goal is to provide a platform for making music more meaningful, accessible and fun for the masses. While the Jamstik is instantly compatible with Garage Band and hundreds of other core-midi applications, we are developing apps for teaching, interactive Tab and a fun music re-mix experience,” said Chad Koehler, Zivix VP.

Jamstik uses IR sensors to read your fingers as you press the strings so you never need to tune it! Additionally it can notify you before you tap the wrong notes. Oops!! That is why Koehler says it could be a teaching tool?!

Even-though Jamstik cannot be taken as a proper music instrument it can be very well taken as a higher-end teaching tool! The pricing is not announced yet!
