Apple is all set to digitize text-books : iPad app

It’s a revolution time for schools and other educational institutions. On Thursday, Apple revealed the news that it is ready to revolutionize the education system in future by providing the text books via iPad. Apple Inc, in collaboration with the publishers Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, McGraw-Hill and Pearson to provide digital textbooks.  According to the news, digital textbooks will feature flexible navigation systems to easily highlight texts, take notes, search texts and get meanings. The announcement seems bit shocking to the existing digital text book providers like Amazon.

According to the speech by Philip Schiller, senior vice president,

“Education is deep in Apple’s DNA. With iBooks 2 for iPad, students have a more dynamic, engaging and truly interactive way to read and learn.”

He said the iPad is increasingly being used by schools across the US and around the world and around 1.5 million iPads are already being used by many educational institutes. But those iPads still haven’t yet replaced the old textbook system. However, the Thursday’s announcement is all set to change this trend.

So, with the financial and innovative power of Apple, the dream seems to be nearly possible within next 10 years.
