Adidas miCoach Smart Watch – Personal Trainer on your wrist!

Finally, Adidas steps into smart watch business with its new miCoach Smart Run. Though it is powered by android 4.1.1 version, it is not a smart watch which will have apps and games, show notifications from your mobile. It is just a fitness tracking and maintaining device. Adidas miCoach is of 14.5″, 184×184 resolution display, a touchscreen and A 410mAh lithium ion battery which can stand up to four hours in training mode, eight hours in marathon mode, or up to 14 days in watch mode. It sports a micro USB port for charging and connecting it with computer.

The Smart watch comes with a storage space of 4GB out and a row of sensors; Wi-Fi, GPS, accelerometer and Bluetooth. An additional heart rate strap is not needed as it has the heart rate monitor at the backside which makes it out of the crowd.  The device can be powered On with a single press of a button, a medium press to lock it and a long press to turn it off.

The watch fixes to your hand securely as it is facilitated with a buckle strap. Though it is water resistant to handle rain, it cannot go with swimming or shower. Moving onto the software side, it has features for both experienced and new athletes; basic information from workout side like average pace, calories burnt, distance, steps per minute and more…( downloaded from micoach website). If installed, the virtual coach can remind you to maintain a pace of running according to your heart rate. This device has four main menus featuring clock, micoach, music and settings. The clock has a stopwatch and timer. The faces of the clock can be changed within the pre-installed faces. Volume control and selection of songs can be done under the main menu music. Micoach allows you to have a customized voice of your coach. The cost is estimated to be around $400.
