Time to get separate walking lanes for texting on the go!

Updated on September 15, 2014

Its another busy day and you are rushing to work. Meanwhile, you have to keep your boss, your spouse and your client, updated of your status. Calling their mobile, is no longer the fashion! As long as you are online, you can keep anyone updated with instant messaging and thats’s the reason for the rise of N number of messaging apps, some have the facility to show your location too(and that is killing your privacy). Okay, what all this means now? You are overly attached to your smartphone? Or your smartphone, makes you dumb and stalked by showcasing your privacy(so called social)? Or it makes you smarter than you are? Well, whatever it is, the usage of smartphones is ultimate today!

We have been asked not to use mobile while driving, and so came hands-free headsets, and then came smart car dashboards. But, people who are walking can always use smartphones right?(Except when you cross roads) No! Have you ever noticed that you are annoying people walking behind you, by concentrating on your mobile? Well, I have experienced this and seems like many others too; which has now lead to this novel idea of creating separate walking lanes for texting pedestrians!

Last week in a sidewalk at downtown Washington, D.C, a separate path was created for cellphone users. Non-cellphone users would have to use a separate path.

In Chongqing City, China, a dedicated sidewalk for those who are deep into their mobile phones, has been introduced. The People’s Daily China has reported that this China’s 1st “exclusive sidewalk for mobile phone users” to avoid possible crashes.

And, if you are in one of the two places, and using mobile, there is less chance that you might have even noticed the dedicated path created for you! Yeah?
