GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas available for Android: 4 and 5 to follow suit soon.

Updated on September 1, 2017

Grand Theft Auto or GTA as it is popularly known is a series of game which is produced by Rockstar games and marketed by Rockstar North. It is a Role Playing Game or RPG. You play as different character in different games and have to complete stories that occur as missions throughout the game. These are not games that you can finish in a day, rather you need a week. Here are the review of each game for Android.

Grand Theft Auto 3

Grand Theft Auto 3 was the first game in the GTA series to be released for Android. It is very much the same story as its PC counterpart. The game starts on a bridge and you play as Claude who is the silent protagonist of the game as he doesn’t speak much except when he is injured or killed. This was the first 3D title in the series after which all the series were improved and 5 being the latest – has more graphic intensive gameplay and characters. It is set in modern Liberty City which is actually based on New York City and the city is quoted as the “worst metropolitan city ever in America”. The original game was based on 9/11 effects and featured some offensive content. Later it was changed and when asked, Rockstar said the game featured 1% of change from the original with some cosmetic effects and so on. It is very much the same game that was there for the PC. But there is one thing that is different, the touch controls. It needs some using up to do.

Grand Theft Auto Vice City

In this game, you play as Tommy Vercetti. The game also happens in the 80s. In the PC version of this game, it got stuck in the start screen itself and would constantly reboot my system meaning it was graphic intensive and I changed my PC due to that. But I was rather disappointed to see that it was not what I expected. The cars were good and were fast. The fast cars were rarely available in the start and once you move to the third island, you get them more.

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas

The third and last (for now) in the GTA Series for Android. This game is very huge and comes with a lot of problems actually. People complaining about the game not being responsive and more of force closing issues. Guess, the flagships can handle these with ease. The complaints were for low end devices like the Galaxy Ace and so on. Cannot expect Xperia Z series to have the issue though. The same story that was available for the Ps2, Xbox and the PC is now on Android.

All the Three games are not free and require you to shed Rs. 270 (for GTA3 and Vice City) and Rs. 360( for San Andreas). San Andreas is also available for the WP range of devices. But only a few support it- the Lumia 1520, 1320, 822, 820, 810 and the HTC 8X. The latest iterations- GTA 4 and GTA 5 are to be available soon.
