A Journey of an email starts when you hit the “Send” button, the email travels over the communication network, routers, data centre, firewalls, scanners and to the recipient. Here’s a new website “Story of Send” created by Google to tell its users how a Gmail travels to the destination. The website includes an animated video explaining how an email starts its journey from your PC, Smartphone and Tablet to the destination. The video also explains how various Google services has access to your email and how the security measures are taken care to filter out the spams and viruses. According to the video, Google says its data centers uses only less energy compared to other data centers. “Whenever we can, we buy green power from wind farms near our data centers (…) This, along with efficiency and investing in other projects, helps us eliminate our impact on climate change,” says Google in a video.
