If you had ever wished an app that can read out the banner notifications aloud, then this Cydia tweak can help you. VSNotifications, an app from Cydia that can speak notifications – including notification title & its content, create custom speech snippets to be spoken along with the notifications and preview the custom speech snippets.
VSNofications has to be enabled in the stock settings app menu, as it is disabled by default. Here, you can disable the banners using the “Disable Banners toggle” – enabling this will not show the banner notifications, but the user can still hear the title and its content. Next, “Speak Message” toggle – the entire message body will be read aloud and for the emails only the subjects will be read aloud.
Interesting part of the app is that, you can add custom speech message that will be spoken after every notifications and while launching or exiting an app. It also has a VSActivator service that lets users to assign any gesture to activate the text box that can be used to make the tweak say anything. Finally, VSNotifications lets you generate a test banner as well.
VSNotifications is available for free download at the Cydia’s BigBoss repository.
