Microsoft has released a preview of its upcoming mail client reboot. Microsoft says Outlook.com would be a “truly modern email experience” and is billing it as a new free mail service that pulls features from Hotmail and Exchange. The looks are simple, clear and clean; it perfectly matches the super flat rainbow modernism of Windows 8. The Web-based e-mail service is built to help you get more done by integrating the information from social networks like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Skype sooner!
Thus, your Outlook.com address book comes alive with today’s photos, statuses and updates. It also has Office and SkyDrive- built in; which would allow you to save Office documents, photos or other large files and share them with friends without having to deal with attachments. It provides with tools to get rid of the newsletters, social updates and daily deals so you can get to the email you want. Fast!
Outlook offers a series of “Quick views,” letting you hop instantly to emails with document attachments, embedded images, and even smart categories like shipping updates—yeah, it’s sharp enough to pluck your latest Amazon order out of the pile. You can create your own categories with your own parameters, but even these few that are preloaded are a huge aid.
In future, Hotmail users will be prompted to upgrade to the new Outlook. When you rename your email address, your new ID works just like your old one. Your new mail will go to your inbox, and you can choose to keep your old mail in a separate folder. It has also upgraded with a handful of new features like Scheduling clean-up, easy mail management, viewing message source and so on!
So, what are you waiting for now? It takes a few minutes to set up an email account, and if you let yourself appreciate the work that’s been both powerfully hammered and gently fashioned into this new beautiful, life-helping mail!
