If you are a fan of this tool you will be glad to know that the 2.9.9 was released soon after few days the 2.9.8 was released.
The updates include the new untethered evasi0n jailbreak – which was released last week, fix for iTunes/xcode – wherein the device didn’t show up, fixed bug when building iPhone3, iPhone 2 (iPhone 4 GSM-Rev2) IPSW and the Apple TV 2 bug fix.
