The greatest gift that human race probably can ever boast of is the power to express. Apart from our brain processing, our ability to express sets us apart from the other living organisms. Expression is a mandate for every living being born as a human being. And, we all have our own ways and types of expressions. May it be spoken, written or gestural- expression imparts meaning to our lives.
In the virtual world, this becomes a task. While initially words were the only way of expression, eventually visuals in form of emoticons and many other visuals made expressing oneself much easier. Yet, the danger of confusion or being taken out of context always lurks around in the world where one cannot be present in person. In times like these GIFs come in handy. Words followed by GIFs (Graphics Interchange Format) make comprehension easy.
GIFs? Well, all you need to know is this- It is a format which enables one to compress a picture without making it a ghastly looking image. And, how rad would it be if these images were musical as well?
What is Lala Gif?
Just in case you want to say, “Where is everyone?” in a virtual conversation. It can surely be typed and sent across eliciting a proper reply, but wouldn’t it be a lot more fun if it can be done with an image which expresses. An image with a sound effect would up the fun.
Lala Gif does just about that. An app designed for the web which generates Gifs with musical inclinations.
But a video would have been much better than an image, right? Well, yes, it would have been, but it would have taken its own sweet time to load as well. So an image or a Gif to be precise with a hundred dollar expression and background music can effectively convey the message.
How do I get my hands on this app?
The URL of a Youtube video and a Gif of your choosing, feed them in here and voila! You have your own customized Gif with sound effect.
The bad part…
A Gif is fleeting as compared to the audio feed (of your choosing) of a video. In other words, a Youtube audio would be longer than the Gif. Herein you have to take the pains of clicking on the advanced option to get a satisfactory final result.
Then there are the multiple attempts which go into the making of this Gif which may not be worth your time. Or, the audio which takes a little more than a couple of seconds to load.
The good part…
A neat interface which delivers results which are surprisingly good.
The verdict…
A good idea, an equally good time time-killer. Changes to this app would be a welcoming sight!
