How often you respond to your Facebook event invites? Not many get time to have a look at those events and only very few events are really of your interest. Social event planning is too public and long email chains and text messages are too old method. Well, before you raise your eyebrow let me come to the point. Here’s an app called “GiddyUp” app that makes it easy to get together with people who you already like to hang out with. So how does the app decide that ? The app uses your phone book contacts rather than your Facebook or Twitter friends. How often you store your Facebook and Twitter friend’s phone numbers in your mobile? Not many do that and the phone contacts will have numbers of your closest friends and family, who you really like to party with. This simple difference gave birth to GiddyUp, developed by two friends Elliot Goldwater and John Zurbach.
The app comes with a simple interface that has only three tabs – Home, Create and FAQ. You can create an event or message and send out using the GiddyUp to select group of people and they will immediately know what you want them to know. For your friends to respond back, they don’t require the app to be installed, but yes they require an internet connection to receive an event and see all the details. The developers of the app believe that your phone contacts are the real social network!
