Share Where lets you share location with selected contacts and tag emergency texts

Once Google Latitude allowed you to share your location with friends, but now it joins the Google graveyard. If you are a fan of location sharing, then an application called “Share Where” is a must try. Posted by an XDA member xoLax, Share Where comes with loads of features, and with more controls on when and with whom your location is shared. As the title goes, the application allows you to share your location with selected contacts, which you had set in advance. Then the location can be shared via email and text messages.

Free location sharing app for Android

Share Where is free (with limited features) and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. Once the app is installed, you can quickly share location within the app. It involves in selecting your contacts or input a phone number or email address. The app lets you to broadcast your location with many people at the same time. The feature of the app doesn’t stop there, as it allows you to add text such as “Meet me here” or “I need help” in case of an emergency. Once done, tap on the “Send” button to send an SMS automatically. The contacts receives the message via SMS or email containing your location with Google Maps links and message. You can also set customizable widgets that informs the chosen contacts about your location, without requiring any user interaction. Tap on the right side of the widget to share your location and tapping left side lets you to modify the widget.

Share Where comes as both the free and pro versions. The free version is supported by ads and it is limited to maximum of two recipients and the pro version is loaded with all the features.
