Are you bored of the default Lock screen clock on your iPhone? Then this jailbreak tweak can help you to replace it with a Binary Clock. It is a new jailbreak tweak from Cydia Bigboss repo, which replaces the Stock lock screen clock on iOS device with a different and good looking binary clock. The Binary clock is available in various shapes and colors for decorating the clock – like in the shapes of circles, hearts etc… Another notable feature of this tweak is, you can place the date along with time on the Lock screen. After installing the tweak, you can immediately see the change of clock on your device’s lock screen.
But what’s that Binary Clock? It is a different way of displaying the time on the Lock screen, but it seems bit difficult to read at the first time. Let’s see how to read the time on Binary Clock.
Binary Clock displays hours, minutes and seconds on your device’s Lock screen. Since the seconds changes often, it is quite difficult to read and we normally don’t count the seconds when telling the time to someone. So, we are going to ignore seconds. Anyways it still works like the minutes and hours.
Take a look at the above screenshot, the clock contains six columns & four rows. The first & second columns represents the hour, the third and fourth columns represents the minutes and fifth & sixth columns represents the seconds. Now the rows – there are four rows in the binary clock, from the bottom – the first row has the value of ‘1’, the second has the value of ‘2’, third has the value of ‘4’ and the fourth has the value of ‘8’.
Let’s try to read the time displayed in the above screenshot. Note the pink heart represents the values and forget the gray ones.
Reading the hour: So, here we go – the first column (hour) contains the pink heart at the row one for a value of ‘1’. The second column (hour) contains the pink heart at row one for a value of ‘1’. This means the value for the hour is ’11’.
Reading the minutes: The third column contains the pink heart at the row one for a value of ‘1’. The fourth column contains the pink heart at the row one, two and three for a value of “1”, “2” and “4”. Adding these values will give – 1+2+4 = 7. So the column three has value of ‘1’ and the column four has the value of “7”. It means, the value of the minutes is “17”.
Reading the seconds: Read in the similar way. So you get the value of fifth column as 1+2=3 and the sixth column is 2. It means the value of seconds is “32”.
Is your head reeling? I don’t think you are serious! Binary clock is quite a unique way to display the time. Why don’t you try it then?
