How to back-up your jailbreak tweaks before updating in iOS 6?

Updated on September 1, 2017

Whenever you take a decision to upgrade after each release of new iOS, the one thing which comes in a flash to mind might be – backup. Yes, but backing up solutions have never fulfilled our necessities fully. And if you attempt to restore your tweaks without going through Cydia, a minor break in a single tweak even could crash your phone at start-up. The risk is not null eventhough the update is minor, like the one released now – iOS 6.1.2.

OpenBackup is a good solution for restoring your Cydia tweaks. The app is totally free and it syncs with iCloud, supports backups of paid tweaks, has a neat user interface. It can also be used to download copies of installed packages along with their dependencies. So, this in turn facilitates you to keep a complete local copy of your tweaks on your computer’s hard drive (and thats nice, isn’t it?!).
