Generally your iPhone’s emergency dialer is meant to call only emergency numbers, but this new tweak can let you to call your contacts directly from the emergency dialer. Exigency, a new app poped-up on Cydia will actually load your contacts to iPhone’s emergency call menu. It means, you can quickly make a call to your contacts even when your phone is locked and passcode protected. Well, it is not advised to reveal your contact from the lockscreen, but if you are someone who love convenience over security, then Exigency might impress you.
The app comes with a preference panel, where you can enable or disable the tweak. Once the tweak is enabled, just tap “Emergency Call” button on your iPhone after using slide to unlock (you must have enabled passcode protection). Now you will find a new button with the label as “Call Contact”, just tap it to load your contacts. Once you’re done with the call, Exigency will take you back to the Lock screen with passcode enabled. It means, the app will only let you to make call from emergency menu and still protects other things on your iPhone.
Exigency is available for free on ModMyi repo on Cydia. Will you use Exigency? Let us know your comments.
