If you are big fan of Hollywood movies, then you might be familiar with characters performing actions by just waving their hands in the air. Interestingly these kind of technology do exist in recent smartphones as well; For instance, Samsung Galaxy S4 feature some air gesture and Sonly Xperia Sola has a floating touch. But how about other Android users? Fortunately an XDA member forgin has developed an app called “Hovering Controls” that allows you to register simple motions and perform it in front of your device to launch specific applications or control music. The app makes use of device’s proximity sensor, and lets you to silence an alarm clock or ringtone by just waving your hand. You can also control movie playback, navigate between songs or video without touching the device screen.
Hovering Controls feature two modes; Target mode to open pre-determined apps with a set gesture and Carousel mode to launch app from a list of apps. The app also has an testing mode where you can test out different motions to verify that everything works as you expected. You can also make use of the included widget to toggle the app On/Off.
Hovering Controls is compatible with any device that runs Android 2.2 or newer and it also ad-free. Download Hovering Controls from the original application thread on XDA.
