LivesOn, a new app, is designed to tweet for you after your death. “When your heart stops beating, you’ll keep tweeting”!
LivesOn is the brainchild of ad agency executive Dave Bedwood. It is also an artificial intelligence experiment At the research and Development at Queen Mary University in England. This twitter app is scheduled to release later this month for free! Basically it examines your tweets, learns about your tweeting patterns, and gets the feedback about the tweets that it generates. And then it generates its own to tweets after you’re gone! An executor, nominated for your account by you, can notify the service afterlife.
“Technology is accelerating and it seems likely that the trend of people sharing their lives online will just continue and perhaps get even more pervasive,” Bedwood says.
Ramona Pringle, a professor at Ryerson University, says the app gives users a sense of control and adds,“With an app like this you’re writing your own script, you’re manifesting your identity. Instead of someone writing on your tombstone, you’re taking the reins at how you are remembered”.
