How to remove URL redirects in Tapatalk forum browser using Xposed Module

Updated on September 1, 2017

If you are a regular follower of Android forums such as XDA, then you might have used Tapatalk forum browser, as it is the convenient way to browse forum applications from your mobile. But the one annoying thing you see in Tapatalk is the redirection of app specific URLs. For example, if the post you are viewing contains a link to Google Play store app, then Tapatalk is not capable of directing you to Play store app, because the URL will be simply filtered by your browser. Tapatalk makes use of an external server (link.tapatalk.com) to parse links, due to which many special links or app-specific links will not work properly.

If you were annoyed by the Tapatalk’s redirection, then it’s time to say bye to it. Yes, we have a new trick from an XDA developer GemainZ, who have come up with an Xposed module to remove such redirects. It’s an open source project called CrappaLinks that works on rooted Android devices. It means, you should also have a latest version of Xposed Framework installed on your device.
