What was the first thing that you did when you first got yourself an Android phone? Set time and date? Put it on charging? If you didn’t do this, then you probably shouldn’t be using an Android phone- DOWNLOAD APP! I don’t know about you but for me an exhaustive list of apps was already made by me, much before (to people’s amusement) my phone arrived. I wanted the Kindle app, the Kobo app, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter (you get the drift), all this and even more right on my phone. Life suddenly seemed to have changed tracks; things seemed to look up just by mere installation of some apps. And thus an era of app began. People shot to fame by designing apps! (Tell your parents this and they would probably be befuddled). So this had be covered, a not-so-exhaustive list of apps which should make its way to your android devices (i.e. if they already haven’t). The must have and nominated to be the best apps in no particular order are-
QuizUp
After four months of playing muse to its iOS users, QuizUp finally entered the Android market. Your grey cells can show their prowess on this platform. You can engage in battle of wits with strangers and friends and learn in the process. QuizUp fares well on the list of highly addictive apps.
Timehop
Caution: Don’t install this if you looked cringe-worthy in your past pictures.
If basically synchronizes with your Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and all the other social networking forums where you share your pictures, and replays these pictures from the past reminding you of some key events which would leave you with a nostalgic feeling.
Our old friend here needs no introduction. Off late, Android and iOS users are being engulfed by a whole lot of WhatsApp-like apps, but it still stands undaunted at the top of the list. Everybody loves this app come Viber or BBM.
iSupr8
If you are an avid Instgram lover, then this is the app for you. It shoots beautiful vintage videos which is Instagram friendly. So if your phone has a decent camera, then your video would look something straight out of the 50s or 60s television.
Kindle
Many find the concept of shelling out money for a book reader ridiculous. Like why would you spend your money on a mere book reader if you can get a tab at the same price? Well, if you are one of those, then Amazon Kindle app is just meant for you. Download books (free and paid) and read to your heart’s content.
Duolingo
You’ve gotta love this app. It would reform you into a polyglot (well, almost) in no time. It comes armed with Spanish, French, German, Italian and Portuguese and would make you conversant enough in all these tongues. Rad, isn’t it?
Apex Launcher Pro
This is a paid app, but is worth giving a try. As once you try it, you’ll keep going back to it for more. This app revamps your screen layout and the user interface looks fancy and nothing like the boring standard ones.
Jamie’s 20 Minute Meals
Jamie as in British chef Jamie Oliver would lead you though the tricky kitchen. Over 65 recipes accompanied with pictures you can have a fancy meal any time of the day without to order an eat-out.
Photowall
Got Chromecast? Then install Photowall. You don’t have to zoom in to show miniscule pictures anymore, show it on the big wide screen.
Unfollow
If your followers on Twitter and Instagram are stealthily unfollowing you stealthily creeping out, then catch them red handed with this app. It has been making news world-over; this is a perfect app to manage your followers.
This list is a never ending one. With a new app being born every now and then, we are in for an app explosion. What’s your favourite app?
